Invest in Caregivers Health Projects Center (HPC) invites you to become part of our support system for caregivers. Your donation enables us to provide a range of services to caregivers on a low-cost or no-cost basis. As a private non-profit agency, our funding comes primarily from government grants, private foundations and individual donors like you. All donations are tax-deductible (federal tax ID #94-2713281). We are proud of the work we do to help local families deal with the challenges of a loved on who is living with a brain impairment. We know that our work helps people during challenging times. Let us give you one example, a true story of one of our clients. Bob S. is a 72-year old caregiver with failing eyesight that makes it difficult for him to care for his wife Eileen, who suffers from moderate dementia. Fiercely independent, both Bob and Eileen are determined to stay in their own home. With no relatives nearby and no extra funds to pay for help, Bob became increasingly frustrated and depressed over his physical limitations and the state of Eileen’s health. Our staff met with Bob and Eileen and developed a care plan that included weekly respite. Now Bob has time to relax with Eileen while a skilled care worker does the household chores. Bob is also receiving free financial and legal counseling provided by HPC. His stress level is down. Bob now knows that he is not alone, and that he has someone to call for help. The unfortunate truth is that we receive many requests for help, but we don’t have sufficient resources to assist everyone in need. We invite you to help us help people like Bob S. by making a financial contribution. Respite care – an opportunity for the caregiver to get away and take care of themselves – is by far the greatest need of the caregiver.
Ways to giveDirect Donation: Give directly to HPC and its programs, and your dollars will immediately help caregivers to continue in their compassionate and essential role.
When you donate to an Endowment Fund, your gift lives forever, earning income year after year. Endowed fund cannot be withdrawn – only the revenue generated by the fund can be used to fund programs. HPC has established Endowment Funds at the Community Foundations in each county we serve: Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito. By directing your donation to one of these Community Foundation’s funds, your gift will benefit residents of that county specifically.
